47TH INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL – FOOD FAIR: A FERTILE FIELD OF NEW EXPERIENCES AND NOVELTIES
The international scope of AGRA Fair 2009 in Gornja Radgona, at the meeting point of Slovenia, Austria, Croatia and Hungary, will this year be even more strongly underlined by presentations from foreign countries. A novelty at this year’s fair will be the project ’Wine Slovenia Gornja Radgona’, set up as a fair within a fair. Special emphasis will be placed on organic and integrated crop production and breeding, climate change, impact of water quality on human health, healthy organic nutrition and alternative options for increasing revenue from cultivated land. There will be a wide array of educational, peer-group and entertaining activities, among them also many new events such as an Organic market, Honey and honey products market, and a Honey Queen pageant. The fair will once again be the setting for international quality assessments of wines, food products and agricultural mechanization, all of which may be sampled and tested, and awards will be presented. The last two days of the AGRA 2009 will be marked by the 56th World Ploughing Contest held in Moravske Toplice.
